In May, Jess applied to compete in the Canterbury Festival Young Musicians' Bursary Competition for musicians 18 and under across Kent.  After written application, audition and live finals in Canterbury in October, she was delighted to be chosen as the 2020 Canterbury Young Musician of the Year. She received a bursary towards her musical studies, and an ambassadorial role for music in the county.
