Biology Gold CREST Success

Three more groups have been awarded the Gold CREST Award for their Fly Lab research conducted last year.

Manav, Alex and Harry (not pictured) investigated insect repellents in D. melanogaster and L. niger. Michael, Mandalay and John worked on conditioning flies to prefer blue light against natural instincts. Laurie and Izzy focused on the factors affecting social group formation in Drosophila melanogaster.

All the feedback received was excellent and we are very proud of their achievement especially considering they had a shorter time to collect their data due to lockdown. Congratulations!
