Junior Prize Giving

Last night we held a prize giving ceremony at the school to celebrate the academic achievement of 96 students during the academic year 2020/21.

It was a lovely occasion to be able to once again open up the schoolroom, to collectively celebrate the achievements of our younger students with their families.

As well as hearing speeches from the Chair of Governors Charles Doyle, the Headteacher Jonathan Wood , and Deputy Head Prefects Nicholas Frankel and Lilly Sheppard, we were also joined by guest speaker Old Juddian and Paralympian Zak Skinner

Zak is a T13 Long Jumper, for athletes with severe visual impairment. He is currently double European Champion in the 100m and Long Jump, and recently finished 4th at his first Paralympic Games in Tokyo.  Zak gave an interesting and inspirational speech about his sporting career so far. He spoke of the highs and lows, the hard work, dedication and sacrifices he has made along the way, and stressed to the younger audience the importance of maintaining other outside relationships and interests (in his case music), whilst striving to achieve their chosen goals.

We would like to thank all our speakers, and congratulate our prize winners.
