GCSE Results Day - another great day!
We follow up last year's extraordinary results with another stellar set of outcomes from this year group.
Last year saw a record set of outcomes by just about every measure. This year, we were expecting a return to normal, more or less; but instead, our year 11 students produced results almost as strong as those exceptional outcomes of last year.
- Average points score was over 7.6 - last year 7.7, but more typically around 7.4
- A third of all students achieved all their grades at 7+
- Over 50 students "On the Honours Board" with 10 very high grades (8, 9 or A in FSMQ)
Eight students managed the incredibly challenging feat of 10 or more grade 9s: Joshua Aslan, Ribhav Gowda, Kovidh Grewal, Dominic Hutt, Jacob Lau, Ishaan Malladi, Wilf Peet and Luke Smith.
A further fourteen students achieved 8 or higher (or equivalent) in ALL their exams.
This is an illustration of the effort of our students, alongside their ability, together with the impact of the support offered by their parents and our staff.
Jon Wood, Headteacher, remarked:
In a year when we were visited by Ofsted, who reached an Outstanding judgement in all criteria, this is a timely reminder of the personal impact of the work that the school does - incredible results for the vast majority of our students, while providing a rich and varied experience of school life.
We say farewell to some students this summer - after five, hopefully fantastic, years at the school; we wish them well for their next steps in education. For all, these results are just a stepping stone in their pathway, an increasingly diverse and interesting mix of options! We look forward to helping those that remain to flourish at A Level and wish all others the very best of luck in their new adventures.
