Colours

Judd School Colours

The Judd School Colours program seeks to acknowledge student participation and excellence in a diverse range of activities. These encompass sport, music, drama, academic achievement, outdoor education, leadershop, community service and House activities.

There are four recognition categories, with three tiers within each category. In essence, the Bronze Tier is focused around active participation in a category, whilst Silver reflects a level of performance and Gold recognises a level of excellence.

In order to be awarded a colour, you need to evidence 3 of the statements from the criteria below. You must complete all of the criteria during the Key Stage you are applying for. On securing a colour in each of the categories a School Colour will be awarded, to reflect this achievement. Responsibility for recognition rests with the students, will be validated by staff and awarded each Half Term in assemblies.

Scholoarly Colours

These awards are issued following an academic report or grade sheet by the Head of House, and recognise engagement and excellence in learning. We expect all students to actively engage in their learning as well as recognising their academic achievement, and so the focus of the Scholarly Colour is to acknowledge those striving to be the best they can.

Community Colours

Are available to all students throughout their time at Judd, and are awarded on the basis of participation in the wide range of activities that are available at the school. At Judd, we believe that those activities outside the classroom are as important in shaping an individual as those experiences in them. As such, the Community Colours system encourages and rewards individual students who participate in these activities, which provide them with experiences and opportunities to develop outside the classroom.

Arts Colours

Developing a greater appreciation of the Arts is important in the development of the young people that attend Judd. To that end, we actively encourage students to explore and engage in the Arts, whether that is purely on a participation basis or pushing themselves to excel in their chosen field.

Sports Colours

Sport, traditionally, plays a large part of life at Judd throughout a student's time here. However, not every student finds that sport for which they have a natural inclination. Sports Colours are, therefore, award for regularly engaging in sporting activities as well as consistently representing the school at sporting fixtures.

Application for Colours

Application for colours can be submitted by students on the Judd Dashboard.
