Sports Day - Friday 27 June

Sports Day will be held on-site next week. Key information appears below:

Programme

The event is for Y7-10, with Y12 prefects assisting.

There are no taught lessons.

The all-day programme is available here . NB - this is provisional and will update nearer the time. There will be printed copies available on the day.

Further information, including boys’ allocated events, is published in school; boys are encouraged to consult noticeboards regularly in the coming days.

Kit

Boys may attend school in normal PE kit, with appropriate outer layers. For competition, boys should wear either a House t-shirt, or School or representative vest - in which case they should bring 4 safety pins and collect a House-coloured piece of card from

the school gates on arrival and affix to the front of their vest.

A sunhat, suncream and a light rain jacket should also be considered - only in extreme

weather events will the programme be cancelled.

Food and drink

A normal break and lunch service will be in operation.

Boys should have a water bottle with them for the day; there are ample filling points available.

Money & valuables

There will be several refreshment stalls in the afternoon so boys are encouraged to bring no more than £5 cash with them; £1 coins would be helpful for stall-holders. Boys are responsible for their valuables and with a busy day of sport on offer we strongly

recommend that valuables are not brought into school on this day.

Spectating & JPA

Spectators are welcome as always. Please park off-site and sign in at Reception. Spectators will have use of the Sixth Form Study Area as a 'base' for the day, with toilet facilities. For the morning sessions, various 'zones' will be set up for parent spectating and we politely ask that parents remain at, or move quickly between, these zones. Maps and signage will be visible on the day to assist.

The JPA are kindly running refreshment stalls in the afternoon. If you wish to help with

the JPA stalls please contact jpa@judd.kent.sch.uk directly, and these parents can park at the Lower Field.

Y12

Year 12 students, except prefects, are not required to be in school this day, and should therefore take the opportunity to work on their UCAS application, complete some independent work, or prepare for forthcoming work experience placement. Prefects (and other interested students) have been surveyed for their involvement.

Queries

Do get in touch with me with any queries - except if they concern your son’s individual

events, which should be directed to your son’s PE teacher, with whom events were

negotiated.
