Year 9 Students Explore the Microscopic World

On Friday, a group of Year 9 students took part in an exciting workshop at Tonbridge School, where they learned how to operate a scanning electron microscope on loan from the Natural History Museum. They used the microscope to capture stunning, high-resolution images of a variety of objects they had chosen in advance. Their samples included a butterfly wing, a bee's mouth and eyes, an ant’s head, copper sulfate crystals, and a feather - revealing intricate structures invisible under an optical microscope.
